I am currently about to board my flight heading back to the brisk N.J weather. I spent the past 4 days down at my family home in Palm Beach, Florida. My “snowbird” grandparents have been spending the winters here since before I was born. On Friday my grandfather had a small knee procedure so I jumped on a first class flight go help him recover. This little trip was a much needed get away!
Currently my townhouse is undergoing a never ending remodel. All of the hardwood flooring is being replaced because of a water heater burst that I remember as “The night JCM learned how to operate a mop!” I was so sick that night and it was around 2:00AM when I went downstairs to mess around on my laptop in the office. As I was walking through the first floor halls, I kept hearing a noise from under my slippers that sounded like I was walking over a wet deck. I followed the squish squash noise into ground zero (aka the laundry room that housed the water heater, which now could double as an indoor pool!)
Long story short the entire first level hardwood was ripped up and is now bare, concrete, and solo ugly! All of the furniture and nick-nacks are cluttering the upstairs, spread out between the hallway, media room, and master bedroom. The only livable part of this construction zone is my bedroom and bathroom. Let’s just say that I’m getting so sick of spending all free time in my bedroom that I’m seriously considering shoving a desk next to my shower and making the bathroom my new office!
Even though I came down just to help the “Commander in Chief of the Culley Clan” (aka my grandfather) , I was so glad to escape to some warmer weather and take a break from the caution tape that covers 70% of the townhouse!I can not wait to get back to see the Culley Committee Mascot: Jax , my three month old morkie pup! He has been staying with my friend C.C, his Mom. I heard some political talking about how necessary it is for a baby to have both a Mom and Dad….so I picked CC (aka chubby, btw it’s a total term of endearment!) and now our “baby” will grow up to be perfect even though his dad’s a little gay! Problem solved!
