Im a blogger now… too! If there is one thing I must do during the week its get my nails done with JC and frequently we have both been getting neutral nails (a.k.a. “Put it into Neutral” but OPI), and I am all for it the look.. so clean! So committee, we are going back to basics. I believe that the goal to having a functioning wardrobe is to have basics, the key to making a great piece is how you style them.
As I sit here typing I have basic Lululemon leggings on, but to change it up and make it modern I also have on an oversized white tee, a light gray cardigan (from the Roxy: Summer 2016 line), and black “Tasman” ugg slippers. Yes, I said Uggs…. I know, I know you can’t get more basic than that. But truthfully if paired correctly and only making an appearance once in a blue moon they can be not only acceptable, but stylish. Oh and of course not one of my outfits are complete without my Culley CO. bracelets!
This might come off as odd because I am a college student, but I get dress for class (even when they start at 9am). I enjoy wearing stylish outfits, my professor told me that I am her style inspiration and muse, guys I have never had a nicer compliment in my life! This is extremely easy with a closet like mine when most of your items are black, white, gray, and jeans. Hence back to basics, and don’t get me wrong I'm not living in black and white I do have splashed of color such as forest green, camel, or rose gold pink, but they are special pieces.
Jeans, jeans, and definitely not leggings. If there is one thing that turns me off to someone style is a constant parade of leggings. I get it, we’ve all had those days - I’m having one right now, but leggings should not be a staple in you wardrobe. I love jeans! They are the best, especially with the comfortable hybrid blends that they make now, and can change the dynamic of any outfit. Truthfully I own more jeans than sweaters and I love sweaters. The key to wearing jeans are to find ones that fit correctly and comfortably. Once you have found a place brand the provides both don't let go! My go to jean stops are Abercrombie & Lucky Brand cause when they are worth it - they are worth it.
…. Jeans. At the minimum.
