This past weekend my older sister, Marissa and I road-tripped down to visit my younger sister, Chrissy at Elon University in North Carolina. The 18 total hours on the road really bonded Marissa and I. We listened to true crime podcasts, ate a lot of crappy foods, and I slept more than most of the ride while she drove (sorry bitch but I need my rest).
Fall is a transition period for me. Im putting away my pastels and pulling out my earthy colored sweaters. Right now I am obsessing over plaid faux-flannel button downs and jean combinations. I put together an outfit that combines my fall wardrobe staples. Comment any staples in your fall closet below!
One word: unique! These are like no shoe I have ever seen or worn. I would say they fit true to size and after a days worth of wear, the loafers break in nicely. They are inexpensive and well worth a buy!
Once September hits I traditionally stop spending weekends at the beach. When I was young my family would get so caught with back to school, my sisters playing sports, and other real life busyness, that we wouldn't have the time to go to the shore after Labor Day weekend.
I will never forget that fabulous day in March of 2013; I was 18 years old, a senior in high school, and on my easter break with my family down in Florida. I had never heard of the brand Vineyard Vines even though I would of considered myself a preppy teen who loved colorful, classic clothing. Up until this point Ralph Lauren was my God and Brooks Brothers was my messiah.
What a long week! I started school on Wednesday and am finally finishing up my associates degree this semester.( At this rate I am going to be the 40-year-old college student who never gets his degree until his grandchildren are in class with him.) School aside, this week in New Jersey the weather is starting to transition into that crisp fall air during the days with chilly, cool nights are upon us. I was glad to be able to break out my vest for some very college-student inspired outfits.
In high school the “it” thing for guys to care about was sneakers. I will never forget when I bought my first pair of Air Jordans. I bought the most simple looking high-top that the brand designed. My style has never been LA streetwear, however being an impressionable 16 year-old I was trying to find what genre of style worked for me while being surrounded by guys who loved urban style… and believe me it took YEARS!
I can't believe it's already September. It feels like just yesterday I was running against the wind on the sand in Long Beach Island of October 2015. Where has the time gone? This was nearly two years ago and already so much has changed for me. I grew a business, got a dog, bought a ton of clothes, then gave away a ton of clothes because I bought most of those items out of impulse. It's just funny to think about how much change has happened since I wore this outfit last.
This past week has been really fun. I started a new Instagram account dedicated to my blog and the brands I work with and am obsessed with. I love to work with companies that I really believe in. There are so many bloggers who are willing to just work with anybody to get free products and I find that so sad. I would hate to find out that the bloggers I love don't really actually use the products they post about and are only in it for the gifted merch.
